Rachel Mcintosh

Rachel has been riding her entire life. Growing up on her family’s boarding barn in Monticello she knows everything from riding horses to farm management and horse care. She has competed through the Preliminary level and has started horses from the ground up. Rachel has been an assistant trainer on and off through the years. She is also a PA working in Minneapolis fulltime. Rachel has been head of the winter training program and assists in summer lessons and coaching.

CHELSEA KANG

Chelsea has competed through Preliminary Eventing, produced successful lower level packers and shown a wide variety of horses through the years. For 5 years, Chelsea worked as Olympic Eventer, Becky Holder’s assistant. This experience gives her a unique knowledge base in training, conditioning, and management of top equine athletes. She’s personally cared for and conditioned Becky’s CCI3*-L horses. Her training is tailored to each horse and riders’ needs and goals. Above all, Chelsea always puts the horses first no matter what and strives to give her students the same comprehensive knowledge of horsemanship.

EMMA BECKETT Cozine

Emma has been working for Liz on and off since 2017. Emma has experience with starting young horses and competing at the lower levels. She works as Vet Tech and is teaching at Copeland Farms for Liz. She has successfully shown through Novice and enjoys passing her knowledge on to others. We are excited to welcome her to our excellent

Ellen grady

Ellen has been training and showing dressage and event horses for almost 40 years. She has competed up to Intermediate in Eventing and fourth level dressage. In the last five years she has been working with Mary Wanless in clinics and in four day teacher training sessions. This work is focused on rider biomechanics and in helping riders better understand how to ride in a balanced way to get the best from their own riding and from their horses. She also rides with Becky Holder in the adult rider development program each summer. Ellen is committed to always learning and finding ways to help students get the most joy and success from their relationship with horses.

Dana Thomas

Dana has successfully trained and shown on her own for more than 35 years. Training horses and clients in Open Dressage classes from Training level through Prix St. Georges. Dana has obtained her education from top trainers and clinicians and believes in continuing education. Reading, watching and participating to help herself stay up to date on new issues and techniques, yet continually reaffirming the basics of correct training methods. Dana has participated in the L Judges program as well as the USDF Instructor Certification Program. Dana teaches dressage and flat work for all riders.

HISTORY

Liz is based out of Copeland Farms in Independence, MN.  She has had a variety of great facilities that she has been able to train at over the years.  When she first began her business she was based out of Katy & David Holub's farm, Trophy Hill and then as her business grew she moved to Peter & Tracy Kooman's Elysium Farms.  Again, as her business is expanding she had moved to a larger facility at the old location of Copeland Farms and since then has relocated a few miles away to a new facility that will continue to let her business and clientele expand.

Liz has a very specialized program to suit each individuals needs and desires.  Liz's regular clients are located at Copeland Farms and she has a variety of committed and loyal clients that trailer in for lessons on a regular basis.  Liz is also available for clinics.  Contact Liz for more specific details.  Liz Lund Eventing is currently made up for a variety of riders of all ages and a mix of Event riders, Jumpers & Dressage riders.

Lessons are offered with limited availability to those that do no own a horse.  Half and full time leases are also available.

Liz spends 6 months in Ocala, Florida competing and training.  Opportunities for yourself and your horse to go down together or individually are available.  Deposits are due October 1 for winter training.  Liz operates her business out of the new Copeland Farms South and travels around to a variety of instructors for advice and training. The beautiful facility offers everything to allow Liz to do the best job possible on training your horse.  Liz & Copeland Farms also has a super staff in MN while Liz is gone to continue to run the farm and teach and train.  Liz comes back to MN once a month to catch up and share her new knowledge with her MN students!

Heading south in the winter allows for Liz to work closely with her trainers and continue to gain extensive knowledge in all equine areas including but not limited to, lessons, training, starting young horses, instructor education, coaching and more. Liz offers a variety of packages while in FL to make it possible to do in many different ways depending on your needs and availability.  Liz’s trainers have helped Liz over the years with everything from purchasing horses, importing horses, lessons, clinics and coaching.  Lessons and training with Liz’s coaches for Liz's clients are available on a limited basis in Florida.  Liz also brings a variety of trainers to Copeland Farms 5-6 times a year - contact her for more information!

Copeland farms South PRICING

We have a variety of options available from renting dry stalls, boarding, full training and more. Pricing depends on length of stay. Please reach out to Liz for more information.

Thank you for considering Copeland Farms as your potential new home or training barn! We specialize in individual catered horse care and training. Heated grooming/tack room area, indoor arena & lounge for the cold winters. One blanket change is included if necessary and our staff manages weight of blanket according to the weather. We feed either a grain free diet or Power Gold Performance pellets, but if you prefer something else you’re welcome to provide your grain and staff will feed. We also feed owner provided supplements or medications. We offer a variety of full care services from hand walking, rehab, tack cleaning, grooming services, trailering and more. We enjoy a drama free atmosphere and a fun, positive group of riders. Liz organizes schooling events and clinics hosted at Copeland Farms on a regular basis. We travel to a variety of shows and schooling events locally and nationally.
